Lease of 108-110 Barrack Street, Merredin to the Merredin Community Resource Centre Inc

The Shire of Merredin is intending to enter into a lease arrangement for the property located at 108-110 Barrack Street, Merredin comprising the Old Council Chambers Building and Women’s Rest Centre with the Merredin Community Resource Centre Inc for the purpose of providing support services to the Merredin community, as per the provisions of Section 3.58 of the Local Government Act 1995.

Disposal of the property will be via a lease arrangement with the Community Resource Centre for a period of two (2) years, with three (3) further terms of one (1) year by agreement.  Proposed rent for the Old Council Chambers Building is $1155 (plus GST) and for the Women’s Rest Centre $520 (plus GST).

Submission relating to this disposal via a lease will close at 4pm on Friday, 20 June 2025 and are to be submitted in writing addressed to the Chief Executive Officer. They can be posted to PO Box 42, Merredin WA 6415, emailed to tenders@merredin.wa.gov.au or hand delivered to the Shire Administration, Cnr King & Barrack Streets, Merredin during business hours.

Submissions received will be presented to Council’s June 2025 meeting for consideration. Canvassing of Councillors or staff will disqualify.
