Tip Passes

Merredin ratepayers are entitled to access the Merredin Tip 12 times over the year for free, provided that they present their tip pass on entry and that loads are sorted into their designated areas.

Pass Validity: Your blue tip pass continues to roll over into the new financial year, provided the first instalment of your rates notice is paid by the due date. This allows for the disposal of up to 1 cubic metre of waste.

Payment Delay: If your initial rates payment is not made by the due date, your tip pass will be invalidated. Once payment is received, your tip pass validity will be reinstated. Please allow approximately 48 hours for online payments to be processed and updated in our system.

Replacement Passes: Each financial year, residents are entitled to one free replacement tip pass should you lose or damage your pass. Subsequent replacements will incur a fee of $11.40. To request a replacement tip pass, please visit the Shire Administration Building or email admin@merredin.wa.gov.au with your name, postal address, and assessment number.

Commercial use of Landfill

A reminder to the community that tip passes are intended to be used solely by residents for residential waste.

If a commercial business is using a resident’s tip pass for the disposal of a resident’s green waste or general household waste to reduce costs to the resident, the commercial business will be required to present written authorisation to the Landfill Operator from the resident to use their tip pass number for each individual visit.
