Please Note: Applicants should contact the Department of Home Affairs for all inquiries regarding the status, requirements, and progress of their application. Once your application is approved, the Department will notify us, and we will be in touch to invite you to your ceremony in Merredin!
Your Citizenship Ceremony in Merredin
Step 1: Notification of Approval
Once your application is officially approved, the Department of Home Affairs will send a written notification to both you and the Shire of Merredin.
Step 2: Scheduling Your Ceremony
Upon receiving your approval notice, the Shire of Merredin will contact you directly to arrange the details of your ceremony, including the date and time.
Scheduling Note: Please be aware that citizenship ceremonies cannot be held on days when the Federal or State Parliament is sitting.
Step 3: Location and Officiator
Ceremonies are proudly conducted by the Shire President. They are held in the Shire Administration Function Centre or on Australia Day at the Australia Day Breakfast.
Step 4: What to Wear (Dress Code)
Becoming an Australian citizen is a major milestone, and the attire of attendees should reflect the significance of the occasion.
