Located at the crossroads to six Wheatbelt Self-Drive road trips, Merredin is a comfortable 2.5 hours drive east of Perth and 3.5 hours west of Kalgoorlie, following the National Trust WA’s epic Golden Pipeline Heritage Trail from Mundaring, and the Public Silo Trail from Northam along the Great Eastern Highway. Alternatively, through Toodyay along the Pioneers’ Pathway is quieter, less travelled sealed roads, following the early pioneers’ stories in each town.

Travelling to Merredin by Train
Prospector: Travel in comfort and style aboard the Prospector, Transwa’s high-speed train service between East Perth Terminal and Kalgoorlie Station, stopped at Merredin Station. Operating daily—with two services on Mondays and Fridays—the Prospector offers a fast, convenient way to explore Western Australia’s Golden Outback.
