🔥 PROHIBITED BURNING PERIOD 🔥

From 1 November 2025 until 17 February 2026, the Shire of Merredin is in the Prohibited Burning Period. During this time, no burning is permitted.

Harvest and Vehicle Movement Bans will be put in place when the use of engines, vehicles, plant or machinery are considered high bushfire risk activities.

Total Fire Bans are declared by DFES when severe weather conditions are forecast or when widespread fires mean they don’t have the resources to fight more.

The Shire of Merredin welcomes ratepayers and members of the community to Council Meetings and Audit Committee Meetings that are open to the public on the following dates for 2026.

All Council Meetings will be held at 5:00pm in the Council Chambers, Corner King and Barrack Streets, Merredin on the following dates:
