The Shire of Merredin is in the final stages of the Crooks Road upgrades, with asphalt works scheduled to commence on Tuesday 21 July 2026.
Given the impending rain over the next two days, we want to ensure that heavy vehicles do not compromise the new seal before the Shire’s contractor has an opportunity to lay the asphalt.
As a result, Crooks Road will be CLOSED between Great Eastern Highway and Goldfields Road, from 3:00pm today, Thursday 16 July, until Wednesday 22 July, and then under traffic management conditions for an additional five days whilst the asphalt is laid.
Heavy vehicle access from Goldfields Road to Gabo Avenue will be via CBH Goldfields Road entrance. The Shire thanks CBH for their assistance in enabling this to happen. Access from Great Eastern Highway to Goldfields Road will be via a detour - Barrack Street / Gamenya Avenue / Railway Avenue.
