The Merredin Show Committee and the Shire of Merredin (the Shire) wish to advise the community that The Bendigo Bank 2026 Merredin & Districts Agriculture Show (Merredin Show), scheduled for Saturday 28 March 2026, has been cancelled due to forecast severe weather conditions.
Statement from the Merredin Show Committee
It is with a heavy heart that, for the safety of all patrons, vendors, volunteers, and entertainers, the Merredin Show Committee has made the difficult decision to cancel the 2026 Merredin Show due to the potential for severe weather on Saturday.
The Merredin Show Committee has invested considerable time and effort into planning this year’s event and, like the community and visitors, is deeply disappointed by this cancellation. However, the safety of all participants, volunteers, and attendees remains our highest priority.
Thank you to everyone who was set to be involved in this year’s event including the amazing vendors, talented entertainers, and the dedicated volunteers working behind the scenes; you are all greatly appreciated.
The Mega Raffle will still be drawn at 4:00pm on Saturday. Community members wishing to purchase tickets are encouraged to contact the Merredin Show Committee directly.
Further details regarding ticket refunds will be provided in due course.
Statement from the Shire of Merredin
The Shire supports the decision made by the Merredin Show Committee to cancel the 2026 Merredin Show in light of the forecast weather conditions due to Tropical Cyclone Narelle.
While this is a disappointing outcome for the community, the Shire acknowledges that the safety and well-being of attendees, volunteers, vendors, and performers must come first. The Shire commends the Merredin Show Committee for its responsible and proactive approach in making this difficult decision.
The Shire extends its appreciation to all those who have contributed their time and effort toward the planning of this year’s event and looks forward to supporting future shows.
Community members are encouraged to monitor weather conditions via the Emergency WA website and stay safe and dry during this unpredictable weather.
