Shire calls out for Billet Families for Medical Students

Published on Monday, 18 January 2021 at 10:09:26 AM

200 medical students from Curtin University and Notre Dame will be participating in a rural immersion program from Monday, 15 March 2021 until Friday, 19 March 2021.

The program was reinstated by the Wheatbelt Eastern Regional Organisation of Councils (WEROC) several years ago in conjunction with Rural Health West and is designed to provide students with the opportunity to experience life in the country and to gain a greater understanding of rural life and healthcare.

The students will be billeted with families in Bruce Rock, Cunderdin, Corrigin, Kellerberrin, Merredin, Moora, Narrogin, Southern Cross and Westonia.

If you live within 20 kilometres of the above listed towns, would like to be part of this unique experience, and can billet two or more medical students, please contact your local shire.

For more information about the program, please contact Betony Dawson on (08) 6389 4567.
