The small dog section at the Merredin Dog Park will remain closed for the next 6 weeks while the new grass is given time to properly establish. The big dog section is back open and will remain operational while the small dog section is closed.

Local Government Allowances
At the Ordinary Council Meeting of May 2023, Council endorsed a reduction in the annual allowances and meeting attendance fees for Councillors compared to the previous year. The reason given was a partial recognition of the 2023/24 proposed rates increase, and for Council to demonstrate a proactive commitment to delivering a balanced budget. In accordance with Section 5.96A of the Local Government Act 1995 and Regulations 29C(2)(f) and (6) of the Local Government (Administration) Regulations 1996, a report must be prepared annually on any fees, expenses or allowances paid to each council member during a financial year, beginning 1 July 2021.
