Finance Support Officer

The Shire of Merredin is seeking an experienced person to join our Administration Team. The successful applicant should have well developed communications, time management, and Developed numeracy and reconciliation skills

Conditions of employment will be in accordance with the Local Government Industry (WA) Award 2010 with the current salary being (Level 7) $53,995 per annum plus superannuation.

Position Description

Community Liaison Officer

Commencing: Immediately
Position Status: Full time

The Shire of Merredin is currently seeking a suitably experienced person to join our team as a Community Development Officer. This position offers a challenging role for a creative, enthusiastic and driven individual who in return will be offered:

The Shire of Merredin is home to over 3,300 people. Located in the eastern wheatbelt, Merredin is the traditional land of the Njaki Njaki people and the largest centre between Northam and Kalgoorlie. Our town centre is supported by a community who are proud of our area’s rich heritage - reflected in our built form and natural assets along with our love for sports, culture and the arts.

The Community Development Officer plays an integral role in the Shire of Merredin’s Community Services team. In this position you will represent the Shire in various aspects of community life, from engaging with community groups and organisations, to event planning and liaison with other event organisers. You will be involved in the development of policy and strategies within the Community Services team and also play a key role in the Shire’s grant writing program.

Just a 3 hour drive or train ride from Perth, Merredin offers a friendly, vibrant community that will soon feel like family. We have a variety of shops just a short, 2 minute walk from work.
