The Shire of Merredin has been nominated for the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries’ Making a Difference Award.
The University of Notre Dame nominated the Shire for our active participation in a rural and remote area health education program.
The aforementioned program is the billeting of Notre Dame medical students with families and workplaces with the Shire of Merredin, as well as the Shires of Westonia, Kellerberrin, Bruce Rock & Yilgarn, so they can learn about country life and how people access healthcare regionally.
The Western Australian Regional Achievement and Community Awards received more than 200 nominations for this year’s award.
Nominations closed on the 10th July and judging will occur on the 21st of July 2019.
