The Shire of Merredin has commenced the next phase its $10 million dollar CBD Redevelopment, with an official soil turning ceremony taking place at 11:00am on Monday, 12 February 2024 at the Apex Park site.

The festivities of Australia Day kicked off with the annual breakfast at the Merredin Community Resource Centre, courtesy of staff, committee members, and volunteers. The air was quickly filled with the delicious smell of sizzling bacon and sausages cooked by the Merredin Men’s Shed, while the attendees gathered on the lawn area to enjoy a fresh cup of coffee courtesy of Wheatbelt Coffee Time.

The Shire of Merredin has successfully received a grant from the Department of Water and Environmental Regulation to build a new E-Waste Recycling Facility doubling as an upgraded Tip Shop! As such, the Tip Shop will not be operating from 17 January to 1 April, 2024.
